Tres Tesoros Brownies

No recipe image available.These bounty-laden bars are loaded with 'three treasures' - pecans, chocolate and coconut.

Recipe Ingredients:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut

Cooking Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small saucepan (or in medium bowl in microwave) melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar; beat in eggs and vanilla, then stir in flour, nuts, chocolate chips and coconut.
  3. Spread batter in a lightly greased 8-inch square baking pan; bake for 25 minutes, until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan and middle has barely set.
  4. Let cool and cut into squares to serve.

Makes 12 brownies.
