Seasoned Fried Steakettes

Recipe Ingredients:

4 beef cubed steaks (about 1 pound)
1 large egg, well beaten
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup unseasoned dry bread crumbs
1 tablespoon cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon Southwest seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Optional Toppings: Salsa, plain yogurt

Cooking Directions:

  1. Combine beaten egg and milk in shallow dish. Combine bread crumbs, cornmeal and seasonings in second shallow dish.
  2. Dip beef steaks into egg to milk mixture, then into coating mixture, to coat both sides.
  3. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium to medium high heat until hot.
  4. Place steaks in skillet; cook 5 to 6 minutes, turning once. Top with salsa and yogurt, if desired.
