Orange, lemon and lime juices are combined with sugar, heated to dissolve, chilled and then combined with Burgundy and cognac for this refreshing sangria.
Juice of 1 large orange
Juice of 2 large lemons
Juice of 2 large limes
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 (750-ml) bottle Burgundy or dry red wine
1/3 cup cognac
- Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly; cool.
- Combine juice mixture, wine and cognac; chill beverage thoroughly.
Makes 5 (1-cup) servings.
