Hot Buttered Rum
This spirited beverage is hot, buttery and comforting, especially when the weather outside is cold.
2 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups dark rum
6 tablespoons butter, softened
- Place brown sugar and water into a medium saucepan and heat to boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in rum and butter, mixing well.
- Pour into mugs and sprinkle with freshly grated nutmeg. Serve at once.
Makes 4 servings.
