Chocolate Streusel Pecan Muffins.

These streusel muffins have chocolate chips in them. Enjoy with a cup of fresh-brewed coffee for breakfast, snack time or anytime.

Chocolate Streusel Pecan Muffins

Topping:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup chopped pecans

Muffins:
1 (11.5-ounce) package or 2 cups NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Milk Chocolate Morsels - divided use
1/3 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. For Topping: Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter in small bowl with fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans.
  2. For Muffins: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or paper-line 12 muffin cups.
  3. Combine 1 cup morsels, milk and butter over hot (not boiling) water. Stir until morsels are melted and mixture is smooth.
  4. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, pecans and remaining morsels in large bowl.
  5. Combine egg, vanilla extract and melted morsel mixture in small bowl; stir into flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon into prepared muffin cups, filling 2/3 full. Sprinkle with Topping.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool in pan for 5 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool completely.

Makes 12 muffins.
