A sweet, lemony yeast bread with poppy
seeds and toasted almonds. - A recipe is for bread machines.
Lemon Poppy Seed
Bread
- 3/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup lemon yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon lemon peel
- 2 teaspoons lemon extract
3 cups white bread flour
1 1/2 tablespoons dry milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted*
3 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- Place ingredients in the bread machine
pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
- Select Basic bread cycle and start machine.
Makes one (1 1/2 pound) loaf.
*To toast nuts, place in a shallow baking
pan. Bake at 350°F
(175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or
until oats are lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Cool.
