Recipe for bread machine.

Russian Black Bread

1/2 cup water, plus 3 tablespoons
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 cups white bread flour
1 cup rye flour
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
1 1/2 tablespoons cornmeal, coarsely ground
1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
1 1/2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  1. Add ingredients to machine according to manufacturers directions.
    Select Basic White cycle and push Start.

Makes one (1 1/2 pound) loaf.
