This bread recipe can also be prepared
on the grill over indirect heat.
Savory Party Bread
- 1 (1-pound) round sourdough bread loaf,
unsliced
1 pound shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
- Cut bread several times lengthwise and
crosswise, making a grid-like pattern, without cutting through
the bottom crust. Insert cheese between cuts.
- Combine butter, onions and poppy seeds;
drizzle over bread. Wrap in foil and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 350*F (175*C) for 15 minutes.
Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese has
melted.
Makes 8 servings.
