Sourdough and beer add their own distinctive
flavor to this tangy loaf of yeast bread. A recipe for bread
machines.
Sourdough Beer Bread
- 1 1/3 cups sourdough
starter
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup flat beer*
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- Place ingredients in the bread machine
pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
- Select Basic bread cycle and start machine.
Makes one (2 pound) loaf.
*To flatten beer, pour it into a small
saucepan and heat it to a simmer and allow to cool.
