Breakfast never tasted
so good! An orange and cinnamon-scented apple and blueberry filling
is topped with an oat crumb topping. Serve topped with vanilla
yogurt.
Apples
'N Berries Breakfast Crisp
- Filling:
4 cups thinly sliced peeled apples (about 4 medium)
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries or mixed berries
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Topping:
1 cup quick or old fashioned oats
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

- Vanilla yogurt for accompaniment
(optional)
- Heat oven to 350°F
(175°C). Grease an 8-inch square glass baking dish with vegetable
shortening.
- For Filling: Combine all
ingredients in large bowl; stirring to coat fruit evenly; spoon
into baking dish.
- For Topping: Combine all
ingredients in medium bowl, mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly
over fruit.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes
or until apples are tender.
- Serve warm topped with
vanilla yogurt, if desired.
Makes 9 servings.
