French toast spiked with
the Scottish liqueur, Drambuie.
Scottish
Toast
- 6 large eggs, lightly
beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup Drambuie
1 (12-inch) loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch thick slices
3 tablespoons butter
- Maple syrup for accompaniment
- Whisk eggs, milk and Drambuie
together.
- Melt butter in a large
nonstick skillet over medium heat. Swirl to coat.
- Dip each slice of bread
into egg mixture, coating well. Place in hot skillet and cook
on each side until golden brown.
- Serve immediately with
maple syrup, if desired.
Makes 6 servings.
