Cocoa Fudge Frosting
An easy, creamy chocolate fudge frosting made with unsweetened baking cocoa.
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 2/3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- In small saucepan melt butter over low heat; add cocoa, stirring constantly until smooth and slightly thickened. Remove from heat; pour into medium bowl, and cool until very thick, about 30 minutes.
- Add powdered sugar, milk and vanilla to chocolate mixture and beat to spreading consistency. Use as desired.
Frosts and fills an 8 or 9-inch layer cake or 1 (13x9x2-inch) cake.
