This coffee-flavored cake with chocolate frosting is a breeze to throw together. You won't believe how easy a cake from scratch can be.

Nescafé Ice Cake

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups granulated sugar - divided use
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened - divided use
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups Chocolate Mocha Flavor NESCAFÉ ICE JAVA Iced Coffee Syrup
1/3 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch pan.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl. Place 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter in large mixer bowl; beat until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition. Stir in flour mixture and Nescafé syrup. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Remove to wire rack; frost immediately. Cool completely at room temperature before serving.
  4. For Frosting: Place remaining sugar, remaining butter and cream in small saucepan. Heat, stirring frequently, over medium heat until boiling. Boil for 1 minute or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; stir in morsels. Stir until morsels are melted and frosting is smooth. Pour immediately over hot cake.

Makes 15 servings.
