This coffee-flavored cake with chocolate
frosting is a breeze to throw together. You won't believe how
easy a cake from scratch can be.
Nescafé
Ice Cake
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups granulated sugar - divided use
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened - divided use
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups Chocolate Mocha Flavor NESCAFÉ ICE JAVA Iced
Coffee Syrup
1/3 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate
Morsels
- Preheat oven to 350°F
(175°C). Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Combine flour, baking
powder and salt in small bowl. Place 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup
(1 stick) butter in large mixer bowl; beat until creamy. Add
eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition. Stir in flour
mixture and Nescafé syrup. Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes or
until wooden pick inserted in center comes out almost clean.
Remove to wire rack; frost immediately. Cool completely at room
temperature before serving.
- For Frosting: Place remaining
sugar, remaining butter and cream in small saucepan. Heat, stirring
frequently, over medium heat until boiling. Boil for 1 minute
or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; stir in morsels.
Stir until morsels are melted and frosting is smooth. Pour immediately
over hot cake.
