A great cookie for the coconut lovers in the group! The chocolate and coconut is a tasty combination for all to enjoy!
Coconut Treasure Macadamia Nut Cookies
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 (12-ounce) package Toasted Coconut NESTLÉ TREASURES, unwrapped and coarsely chopped
1 (7.5-ounce) jar macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheets.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat brown sugar, butter, shortening, granulated sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until combined. Add egg; beat until creamy. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Gently stir in Nestlé Treasures and nuts. Drop dough by heaping tablespoon 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Makes 42 cookies.
