Mini Morsel Meringue Cookies.

These low-cal, crisp meringue cookies with tiny bits of rich chocolate make elegant fare for parties and holiday cookie platters.

Mini Morsel Meringue Cookies

4 large egg whites
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 (12-ounce) package NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels
  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease baking sheets.
  2. Beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar in small mixer bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar; beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in morsels 1/3 cup at a time. Drop by level tablespoon onto prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until meringues are dry and crisp. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Store in airtight containers.

Makes 60 cookies (5 dozen).
