Apple Pudding
- Cream together:
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 2 cups granulated sugar

- Add:
- 2 large eggs
- 8 medium apples, peeled,
and grated
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- Blend all ingredients
well and pour into a 9 x 9-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350*F
(175*C) for 45 minutes.
- Serve with sauce.
Makes 8 servings.
- Sauce

- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 teaspoons all-purpose
flour
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Nutmeg for sprinkling
- Melt butter and blend
flour, sugar and add boiling water.
- Cook until thick, add
vanilla and sprinkle with nutmeg.
