Strawberry Sorbet

1 cup water
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 (10-ounce) package frozen strawberries, thawed
  1. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil; stir until sugar dissolves.
    Remove from heat.
  2. Pour strawberries and their juice into a food mill or sieve and force the mixture through into a bowl.
  3. Combine strawberry puree and sugar mixture in a bowl; cover.
  4. Pour mixture into an ice cream freezer following the manufacturer's directions or freeze mixture in pan until solid, cut into squares and process in food processor until smooth.; pour into pan and refreeze until solid. Serve.

Makes 6 servings.
