Creole Rice and Sausage

Creole Rice and SausageSmoked turkey sausage teamed up with whole grain brown rice and the Cajun flavor trinity of celery, onion and bell pepper makes for a quick, sure-to-please entrée.

Recipe Ingredients:

3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup chicken broth
4 cups cooked Uncle Ben's Fast & Natural Whole Grain Brown Rice
1 (14-ounce) package Butterball® Smoked Turkey Dinner Sausage

Cooking Directions:

  1. Heat olive oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add celery, onion, pepper and garlic. Cook and stir 3 to 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  2. Stir in chicken broth; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes or until the liquid is reduced by half.
  3. Meanwhile, grill or fry sausage according to package instructions; keep warm.
  4. Stir rice into vegetable mixture. Slice and serve sausage with rice.
