Your whole family will
absolutely love this super easy, super yummy pizza casserole.
Easy
Pizza Casserole
- 1 pound bulk Italian sausage,
or if using links, casings removed
- 3 tablespoons olive or
vegetable oil - divided use
- 1 (16-ounce) package hot
roll mix
- 1 (14-ounce) jar pizza
or marinara sauce
- 1 (2-ounce) can sliced
black olives, drained
- 1 (4-ounce) can sliced
mushrooms, drained
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella
cheese - divided use
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish; set aside.
- In large skillet, heat
2 tablespoons oil over medium-high heat and cook sausage,
using spoon to crumble, until
done. Remove sausage and drain on paper towels. Set aside.
- Prepare hot roll mix as
directed on package using 1 cup hot water and omitting the
egg. No need to let dough
rise. Pat dough evenly onto the bottom and sides of the
prepared baking dish.
- Brush dough with the remaining
1 tablespoon oil; sprinkle 1 1/2 cups cheese over dough. Spoon
pizza sauce evenly over cheese, layer the cooked sausage, olives and mushrooms over
sauce; sprinkle remaining 1 1/2 cups cheese evenly over all.
- Bake for 30 minutes or
until topping is bubbly and crust has browned.
