Mexican-Style Skillet Pizza
This upside down skillet pizza has its crust on top. Serve wedges topped with a dollop of sour cream and additional salsa, if desired.
1 (16-ounce) jar tomato salsa
1 1/2 pounds ground beef, cooked, crumbled and drained
1 2/3 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese - divided use
1 (10-ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough
Sour cream for accompaniment (optional)
Additional salsa for accompaniment (optional)
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Combine fully cooked ground beef and salsa in large oven-proof skillet; top with 1 1/3 cups cheese. Place pizza dough over beef; trim dough to fit top of skillet. Sprinkle top of dough with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
