Onion Meat Loaf
Forget having to chop veggies with this simple recipe for meat loaf. Dry onion soup mix is the secret to its caramelized onion flavor.
2 pounds ground beef
1 (2.4-ounce) package dry onion soup mix
2/3 cup milk
1 large egg
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
- Mix together ground beef, dry onion soup mix, milk, and egg. Shape the mixture firmly into a loaf shape and place in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Mix together ketchup and brown sugar; spoon onto the loaf.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C), uncovered, for about 1 hour.
- When done, remove the loaf to a plate and let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
