Spaghetti and Savory Meatballs.

A good basic recipe for ground beef meatballs. Although this recipe suggests ready-made spaghetti sauce, please do substitute with your own homemade sauce if you prefer.

Spaghetti & Savory Meatballs

Meatballs:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 large egg
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Spaghetti:
1 (26 to 30-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
8 ounces uncooked spaghetti, cooked
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  1. For Meatballs: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine meatball ingredients in large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Shape into twelve 2-inch meatballs. Place on rack in broiler pan.
  3. Bake in 350°F oven 25 to 30 minutes to medium (160°F) doneness, until no longer pink in center and juices show no pink color.
  4. For Spaghetti: Combine meatballs and spaghetti sauce in large saucepan; heat through, stirring occasionally. Serve over cooked spaghetti pasta; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Makes 4 servings.
