Spicy Polish Sausage Dinner

1 package Polish sausage links
1 green pepper, chopped chunky
1 yellow onion, chopped chunky
1 medium apple, chopped fine
1 cup water
1 cup Colonel Grey’s chutney or other similar chutney
1/4 cup butter or margarine
Mashed potatoes or rice for accompaniment

  1. Cut sausage into 1-inch pieces.
  2. Melt butter in a 12-inch skillet. Add chopped onion and pepper, cook until soft then remove from skillet.
  3. Add sausage to skillet, brown until slightly crisp. Add peppers, onions and 1 cup of water. Let mixture come to a boil. Stir in chutney and chopped apples and bring to a boil again.
  4. Remove from heat and serve over rice or mashed potatoes.

Makes 6 servings.
