These ground beef patties, infused with minced roasted red peppers and chopped black olives, are served on crusty sandwich rolls with garlic mayonnaise.

Spicy Spanish-Style Burgers

1 pound lean ground beef
1 large egg, beaten
2 ounces roasted red peppers, seeded and minced
1/4 cup chopped black olives
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 crusty sandwich rolls
4 romaine lettuce leaves
  1. In large bowl, combine beef, egg, peppers, olives, Worcestershire sauce, paprika and salt. Mix well and form into 4 oval patties.
  2. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add patties and cook 7 minutes; turn over and cook and additional 5 minutes until cooked through.
  3. While the burgers are cooking, combine mayonnaise and garlic powder.
  4. Spread the garlic mayonnaise on the rolls; top with a burger and a leaf of Romaine. Finish with roll tops. Serve immediately.

Makes 4 servings.
