This interpretation of an American classic both breaks and embraces tradition. Embellished with salsa, it elevates everyday meat loaf from basic to bold.
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 cup chunky tomato salsa - divided use
3/4 cup dry seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon MAGGI® Instant Beef Bouillon
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large egg, lightly beaten
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine beef, 1/2 cup salsa, bread crumbs, onion, bouillon, garlic and egg in medium bowl; mix well. Press mixture into 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
- Bake for 70 to 75 minutes or until browned and firm. Cool in pan on wire rack for 5 minutes. Serve with remaining salsa.
