Cheesy Christmas Tree

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
1 crispy breadstick or pretzel rod
1/2 cup purchased or homemade pesto sauce
1/4 cup chopped red pepper

Assorted crackers for accompaniment
  1. Cut block of cream cheese diagonally in half. Arrange both halves, with points together, on serving plate to resemble Christmas tree shape.
  2. Cut a 2-inch piece from the bread stick or pretzel rod. Place at bottom of the "tree" for the "trunk".
  3. Spoon pesto sauce over cream cheese; sprinkle with peppers.
  4. Serve as a spread with the crackers.

Makes 12 servings.
