Christmas Wreaths

1/2 cup butter or margarine
35 large marshmallows
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons green food coloring
5 cups corn flakes
Red hots or candied cherries cut in half
  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter with marshmallows over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla and food coloring, mixing well. Add corn flakes and mix until the cereal is well coated with marshmallow mixture.
  2. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a waxed paper or foil-lined baking sheet. Quickly from into "wreaths" with buttered fingers. Decorate with red hots or cherry candy halves. Chill until firm.

Makes 2 dozen.
