Very 'berry' delicious indeed! Melted semisweet chocolate is drizzled over a cookie or graham cracker crumb crust, topped with a sweet cream cheese mixture and juicy, red-ripe strawberries. Submitted by A. Neills Kristensen of Grand Falls, NB, Canada.

Berry Delicious Black Bottom Pie

1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (9-inch) cookie or graham cracker crumb crust
12 ounces of cream cheese (1 and 1/2 packages cream cheese)
1/2 cup prepared white icing
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
15 to 20 California strawberries
Sweetened whipped cream for garnish
  1. Melt chocolate chips in double boiler or in the microwave and drizzle on bottom of pie crust.
  2. Blend together cream cheese, icing and vanilla until smooth. Spread the cream cheese mixture over drizzled chocolate on crust and arrange the California strawberries on top of cream cheese mixture with ends pointed upward.
  3. Finally, put whipped cream on top of strawberries and serve. Enjoy!

Makes 6 servings.
