A classic southern favorite
for the holidays, sweet potato pie!

Sweet Potato Pie
- 1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups mashed cooked sweet potatoes or yams
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
- Preheat oven to 350°F
(175°C).
- In a large bowl, beat
sugar and eggs until well combined. Stir in mashed sweet potatoes,
milk, melted butter, vanilla, allspice, cinnamon and salt; mix
until thoroughly combined.
- Pour into prepared pie
crust and bake for 1 hour, or until center is set.
Makes 8 servings.
