Rocky Mountain Mud Pie

1 small package brownie mix, and oil, eggs and water as directed
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
1 (7-ounce) can whipped cream topping
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare brownie batter according to package directions, adding oil, eggs and water as directed. Leave batter in the bowl; set aside.
  3. Place pie tin with prepared pie crust on a baking sheet. Pour in walnuts to cover bottom. Spoon 2 cups of the brownie batter over the nuts; smooth top so it is level.
  4. Bake, on the baking sheet, for 30 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
  5. Slice into wedges to serve, topping each serving with a dollop of whipped cream.

Makes 8 servings.
