Apple Pizza

Recipe Ingredients:

2 (7x7-inch) pieces of plain focaccia bread, split in half and toasted (for crust)
1/2 cup natural style applesauce
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 teaspoon ground savory
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 ounces white cheddar, grated
1 ounce goat cheese, crumbled
1 ounce blue cheese (or stilton, roquefort), crumbled
1 apple, cored, cut into thin slices

Cooking Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Combine applesauce, lemon juice, ground savory, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium-low heat until all lemon juice is evaporated and mixture is dried out slightly.
  3. Divide applesauce equally among four crusts, spread thinly. Top with cheeses, then apple slices.
  4. Bake at 450°F (230°C) for approximately seven minutes, until cheese is melted and golden. Serve immediately.
