Sweet-and-hot flavors have become popular from entrees to desserts. Here honey joins incendiary habanero to season quickly grilled chopped. The habanero chile is extremely hot, with a bright citrus flavor, native to the Yucatan peninsula. Use the habanero chile sauce carefully, its explosive! Pair these chops with sweet corn and creamy coleslaw.
Habanero and Honey Pork Chops
- 4 boneless pork chops, 3/4-inch thick
1 (12-ounce) can beer
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon habanero chile sauce
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 bay leaf
- In large self-sealing bag combine beer, honey, chile sauce, garlic and bay leaf. Add chops, seal bag and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Drain chops, discarding marinade.
- Grill chops over medium-hot fire 8 to 10 minutes, turning to brown evenly.
