Ham Rolls with Spinach 1/2 pound spinach
1/2 cup water
3 slices of white bread, crumbled
1 large egg
2 teaspoons onions, grated
12 ounces deli sliced ham
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Cook spinach in water until tender; drain and squeeze dry.
- Combine the spinach, crumbled slices of white bread, egg, and minced onion in a bowl; mix well. Spoon on thinly sliced ham, then roll the ham slices from the narrow end jelly-roll fashion. Place seam side down in a baking dish.
- In a saucepan, blend butter and flour; cook over medium heat for 1 minute. Gradually stir in milk and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add shredded Cheddar cheese and cook until the cheese melts.
- Pour sauce over the ham rolls, cover with aluminum foil, and bake at 350*F. for 25 minutes, or until heated through.
Makes 6 servings.
