Old-fashioned wilted lettuce salad tossed in a warm, sweet and tangy cider vinegar dressing with onion and bacon. A perfect example that good taste never goes out of style!

Wilted Lettuce Salad

4 cups of romaine lettuce, washed, dried thoroughly and torn to bite size
4 green onions, chopped
4 slices smoked bacon, chopped
4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
4 teaspoons granulated sugar or brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
Freshly ground pepper to taste
  1. Place lettuce and onions in large serving bowl.
  2. In medium skillet, fry diced bacon until crisp. Do not drain grease. Add the vinegar, brown sugar, salt and pepper to mixture in skillet. Bring to a boil and cook 30 seconds. Immediately pour over lettuce and onions. Toss well and serve.

Serves 4 to 6.
