A tasty and easy way to
serve burgers without the fuss of 'assorted toppings and condiments'.
Ground beef patties, mixed with chopped onion and barbecue sauce,
are topped with a creamy mixture of cottage cheese and shredded
fresh veggies.
Grilled
Burgers with Creamy Veggie Topping
- 1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons cold water
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
4 slices Italian bread, toasted
8 slices tomato
1 cup small curd cottage cheese
1/4 cup shredded carrot
1/4 cup shredded zucchini
2 tablespoons finely chopped radishes
Salt and cracked black pepper to taste
- Combine beef, onion, barbecue
sauce, water and garlic salt; mix well. Shape into four 5-inch
oval patties. Grill or broil patties to desired doneness.
- While burgers cook, combine
cottage cheese, carrot, zucchini, radish salt and pepper.
- Top each bread slice with
two tomato slices, burger and 1/3 cup cheese mixture.
