A tasty version of the 'Cubano', a favorite sandwich of Latinos in Southern Florida, especially in the Miami area.

Grilled Cuban Ham Sandwich with Swiss Cheese

4 soft French rolls
1/4 cup yellow mustard
8 slices Wisconsin Swiss or Gruyère Cheese
8 slices Canadian bacon
4 (1-ounce) slices Wisconsin Provolone Cheese
8 slices ham
16 bread and butter pickle slices (long sandwich slices)
4 teaspoons butter, melted
  1. Split rolls. Spread cut sides of roll with mustard.
  2. Layer and divide Swiss cheese, Canadian bacon, provolone, ham and pickle slices among roll halves.
  3. Heat sandwich press.
  4. Brush top and bottom of sandwich lightly with butter; grill about 4 minutes or until bread is crispy and cheese begins to melt. (Or, grill in nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 2 to 3 minutes per side, pressing down on bread with spatula--or foil-covered brick--while cooking.)

Makes 4 servings.
