The whole familly will love these hearty, cheese-salad-filled sandwich 'hot hats'.

Hot Cheese-Stuffed Rolls

1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Wisconsin cheddar cheese
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Wisconsin Swiss cheese
1/4 cup pitted ripe olives, chopped
1 hard-cooked egg, chopped
2 tablespoons mayonnaise or salad dressing
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon chopped pimento
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 (6-inch) French-style rolls, split
  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the cheeses, olives, chopped egg, mayonnaise, onion, pimento and pepper. Stir until well-mixed.
  2. Spoon 1/3 cup of the mixture onto the bottom half of each roll. Place top of roll over filling. Wrap each sandwich in foil.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through.

Makes 6 servings.

Microwave Directions: Prepare rolls as directed above, but do not wrap in foil. Place rolls on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave, uncovered, on high power for 2 minutes or until heated through, rearranging rolls after 1 minute. (To heat 1 roll: Microwave, uncovered, on high power for 30 seconds. To heat 2 rolls: Microwave, uncovered, on high power for 45 seconds.)
