A unique and tasty, North
Indian-style spiced cheeseburger with Monterey Jack cheese served
on whole wheat toast with chutney.
Indian
Cheeseburger
- 1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded Wisconsin Monterey Jack cheese
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon honey
3/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 slices (1 ounce each) Wisconsin Monterey Jack cheese
8 whole wheat bread slices, toasted
Bottled chutney
- Combine turkey, shredded
cheese, onion, honey and seasonings; mix well. Shape and cook
as directed below.
- For Indoors: Place patties
on greased rack of broiler pan. Broil both sides to desired doneness.
Top each with cheese; continue broiling until cheese is melted.
- For Grill: Place patties
on greased grill over medium coals (coals will be glowing). Grill,
uncovered, 5 minutes on each side to desired doneness. Top each
with cheese; continue grilling until cheese is melted.
- Place each patty on bread
slice; top with chutney and second bread slice.
