
Easily turn leftover holiday
turkey into something deliciously new with this simple recipe!
Turkey
Pizza Burger
- 3 tablespoons butter
1 cup diced celery
3 cups cooked turkey, finely chopped
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1/2 teaspoon pepper
8 slices (1 ounce each) Wisconsin Provolone cheese
4 whole grain hamburger buns (8 halves) toasted and buttered
- Melt butter in large skillet.
Sauté celery slowly until tender. Add turkey and cook
until warmed. Add tomato sauce and seasonings; simmer.
- Arrange bun halves on
baking sheet. Spoon approximately 1/2 cup turkey mixture over
each half. Top with a slice of cheese.
- Bake at 300°F (150°C)
for 5 minutes, or until cheese melts.
Makes 8 servings.
