Blackberries, a member of the rose family, are naturally sweet and juicy. In this sauce they are combined with orange juice and a touch of brandy for a sinfully good complement to any ice cream.

Blackberry Sauce

3 cups blackberries, divided use
2 tablespoons brandy
2 tablespoons orange juice
  1. In a food processor, purée 2 cups blackberries with brandy and orange juice. Transfer to a sieve and press out juice, discarding the seeds.
  2. Stir remaining whole berries into sauce just before serving. Serve over ice cream or pound cake.

Makes about 2 cups.
