This is a great way to use up extra apples, and it's simple enough that the kids could easily learn to do it.

Fresh 'N Easy Applesauce

5 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup Apple Flavor LIBBY'S® JUICY JUICE® 100% Juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl place apple slices, apple juice, lemon juice, honey and cinnamon. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Turn dish and microwave for an additional 5 minutes, or until the apples are soft. Mash to desired consistency.
  2. Note: Add candy red-hots in the last five minutes of cooking to make a colorful, cinnamon-flavored applesauce. Also, a dash of nutmeg when serving adds a fragrant touch.

Makes 6 servings.
