Henry Bain was the headwaiter at a Louisville,
Kentucky men's club more than a century ago when he created the
sauce that bears his name. This recipe varies some from Bain's
original version, but it's true to the source, a savory, spicy
sauce made from several other sauces, marvelous served with pork,
steaks, or chicken.
Henry Bain Sauce
- 1 small jar chutney, chopped
1 (14-ounce) bottle ketchup
1 (8-ounce) bottle chili sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup A-1 Brand Steak Sauce
Tabasco sauce (use your own judgment)
- Blend all ingredients together well.
Makes about 2 cups.
