Applesauce
- 1 pound apples, peeled,
cored and thinly sliced
1/3 cup water
3 whole cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Combine apples in a saucepan
with water, whole cloves, cinnamon, and sugar. Simmer until the
apples are tender, stirring frequently. Remove the cloves and
stir in butter and lemon juice.
Makes 4 servings.
