Young and old will love this easy apple
side dish, the red hot cinnamon candies impart both flavor and
color to the apple rings. Serve warm or chilled.
Cinnamon Candied
Apple Slices
- 2 cups water
1 cup small red hot cinnamon candies
5 to 6 Rome apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch rings (peeled
or unpeeled, as desired)
- In skillet combine water and candies.
Stir over medium heat until candies dissolve.
- Add prepared apples to syrup. Simmer until
just tender. Allow to cool in syrup. Serve warm or chilled.
Makes 6 servings.
