A delicious baked side
dish of pearl onions and sliced carrots enrobed in a creamed
mixture of sour cream and cottage cheese seasoned with fresh
herbs.
Cottage
Creamed Pearl Onions and Carrots
- 1 cup cream-style large
curd cottage cheese
1 cup sour cream
2 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 pound carrots, peeled, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
1 (16-ounce) package frozen pearl onions
1 tablespoon each chopped fresh savory, thyme and sage leaves
or 3/4 teaspoon dried
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
- Combine cheese, sour cream and flour in
blender container. Cover and process on high until smooth.
- In large bowl, combine cottage cheese
mixture with remaining ingredients. Toss well. Pour into buttered
1 quart baking dish.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 1 hour.
- Remove cover. Bake 30 minutes longer or
until carrots are tender.
