Here is an excellent and easy side dish for your next family get together or for when you need to bring a covered dish to a party. This is sure to please and surprise all!

Green Bean Almondine Rice

1 (36-ounce) package frozen green bean mushroom casserole, defrosted according to package directions
3 cups cooked white rice
1 1/3 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon dried tarragon leaves, (optional)
2/3 cup sliced almonds
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine green bean mushroom casserole, rice, cheese, milk and tarragon in medium bowl; transfer to 4-quart baking dish. Top with nuts.
  3. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until bubbly around edges. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.

Makes 14 servings.

For Microwave Preparation: Combine green bean mushroom casserole, rice, cheese, milk and tarragon in medium bowl; transfer to a 2-quart microwave-safe dish. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for 8 minutes. Stir mixture; top with nuts. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for an additional 8 to 10 minutes or until bubbly around edges. Season with salt and ground black pepper.
