Everyone loves cheesy potatoes. Whether you serve these up at a holiday meal or a weeknight dinner, these will become everyone's favorite.
Potatoes Au Gratin
- 2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour- 1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 pounds small new red potatoes, cooked and sliced 1/4-inch thick
1/2 cup (2 ounces) grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup (2 ounces) grated Monterey Jack cheese
- Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour; cook for 2 minutes. Whisk in milk. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 to 6 minutes or until mixture slightly thickens. Season with salt and ground black pepper. Remove from heat.
- Season potatoes with salt and ground black pepper. Add to sauce mixture; stir gently to coat. Pour into prepared dish. Sprinkle evenly with cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
Makes 4 servings. (Recipe can be doubled.)
