Moroccan-style sweet rice
with cinnamon, turmeric, cloves, orange juice and raisins.

Rice
- 1 cup uncooked rice
1 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup orange juice
1 cup water
1/4 cup raisins
1/3 cup granulated sugar
- Combine rice, butter,
salt, cinnamon, turmeric, cloves, juice, water, raisins and sugar
in 3-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil; stir once or twice. Reduce
heat, cover, and simmer 20 minutes, or until rice is tender and
liquid is absorbed. Fluff with fork. Replace cover. Let stand
5 to 10 minutes.
Makes 6 servings.
