ABC Hamburger Soup
1 pound lean ground beef- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 (49-ounce) container chicken broth
- 1 (14-ounce) stewed tomatoes, undrained
1/4 cup alphabet-shaped pasta
1 (10-ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables (do not thaw)
- Crumble and cook ground beef, onion, garlic, salt and pepper in 4-quart saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until no longer pink; drain if needed. Add broth, tomatoes, pasta and frozen vegetables; return to a boil.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer 8 minutes or until vegetables and pasta are tender.
- Add meatballs and cook 1 minute. Serve immediately.
Makes 6 servings.
