Easy Chili con Carne
Quick, easy and satisfying homemade chili made with ground beef canned beans. Recipe courtesy of Michigan Bean Commission.
1 (15-ounce) can Dark Red Kidney Beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 (14.5-ounce) can whole tomatoes, do not drain
Salt and ground black pepper as desired
- Brown beef, garlic, and onion in large saucepan. When meat browns, add beans, tomatoes, chili powder, and cumin. Mix well, mashing tomatoes. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste, if desired.
